Pickleball: Evening Play - Pickle Ball: Evening Play Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. For Ages 18 and up Parent Child Play is also available.There are only 8 people allowed in the gym at any time using the 2 courts.

CT Table Tennis Saturdays - Table Tennis Saturdays Table Tennis is a fun game, and health enhancing lifetime activity but also a mentally challenging international, Olympic Sport where age, size, strength and gender are less important than skills and strategies learned.By matching up compatible players by skill levels, from novice to intermediate and Nationally rated expert players, and providing informal instruction, players will gain skills, especially spin creation to become better players in a fun informal program conducted by former National Collegiate Finalist and State Men's Champion, Coach Dave Strang.Players need not commit or pre-register each playing date but should arrive and pay at the office within 2 hours after the listed starting time.Rackets are available to borrow, or arrangements and advise to buy them during the club meeting.

Escape The Crate Beginner I Dog Training - Escape the Crate Session Beginner 1 Dog Training Tuesdays
Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques. These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more. Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed. Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class. No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination. Equipment required: Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats. He earned a BFA from UConn and a Masters of Arts from Wesleyan. An award-winning novelist and poet, Steve has illustrated book covers and theater posters and has exhibited his artwork throughout CT and in OH. He and his family live in Middlebury.Drawing is Seeing: This 8 week introductory drawing course will dispel the myth that only those with talent can draw. By really looking, and recording what we see, we can all strengthen our artistic skills. In each 90 minute session – featuring fun and challenging exercises – participants will practice the basics, focusing on line and value, drawing both still-life and portrait. Senior Focused Pilates Barre - Senior Focused Pilates Barre Class SENIOR FOCUSED PILATES BARRE (AGES 55 AND OVER) PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION OF THIS CLASS. We must have 4 people to run this class.This new Senior Focused Barre class is a step up and more challenging than the former Senior Get Fit class. The pace is quicker, the music is more modern, and the movements are more deliberate. Movement is still low impact and light to moderate cardio.We do not sit in this class. Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques. These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more. Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed. Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class. Anyone can learn to practice Reiki. Carmelita Rifkin, Reiki Master and Teacher, will explain the ancient Japanese healing art of Reiki and how you can use that energy to help reduce stress and promote relaxation, healing, and enhance optimum health for yourself and others.
The classes include instruction in what Reiki is and its benefits, the history and principles of Usui Reiki; and our chakra system. You will learn how to use Reiki for self treatment and the treatment of others. There will be time to also practice this most wonderful healing technique.
You will receive a certification called first- degree practitioner, which will allow you to continue your journey if you wish onto second- degree practitioner, and then master/teacher.
Carmelita has taken Reiki courses since 2014. She became an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher in 2016 and Karuna and Holy Fire II Reiki Master in 2018. She has taken and has been certified in animal Reiki courses, and teaches Reiki privately and at OLLI-UCONN.

Escape The Crate Beginner I Dog Training - Escape the Crate Session Beginner 1 Dog Training Tuesdays
Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques. These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more. Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed. Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class. No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination. He and his family live in Middlebury.Drawing is Seeing: This 8 week introductory drawing course will dispel the myth that only those with talent can draw. By really looking, and recording what we see, we can all strengthen our artistic skills. Anyone can learn to practice Reiki. Carmelita Rifkin, Reiki Master and Teacher, will explain the ancient Japanese healing art of Reiki and how you can use that energy to help reduce stress and promote relaxation, healing, and enhance optimum health for yourself and others.
The classes include instruction in what Reiki is and its benefits, the history and principles of Usui Reiki; and our chakra system. You will learn how to use Reiki for self treatment and the treatment of others. There will be time to also practice this most wonderful healing technique.
You will receive a certification called first- degree practitioner, which will allow you to continue your journey if you wish onto second- degree practitioner, and then master/teacher.
Carmelita has taken Reiki courses since 2014. She became an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher in 2016 and Karuna and Holy Fire II Reiki Master in 2018. She has taken and has been certified in animal Reiki courses, and teaches Reiki privately and at OLLI-UCONN.

Beginner/Intermediate Acrylic Art Class - Beginner/Intermediate Acrylic Art Class BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE ACRYLIC ART CLASSWITH STEVE PARLATOWEDNESDAYS – APRIL 2 – MAY 212:00PM – 3:30PM$40/8 WKSIn conjunction with the Senior Center this class will be held at the Community Center in the Art Room.Steve Parlato is Professor Emeritus of English at Naugatuck Valley Community College, where he teaches Intro to Drawing. He earned a BFA from UConn and a Masters of Arts from Wesleyan. An award – winning novelist and poet, Steve has illustrated book covers and theater posters and has exhibited his artwork throughout CT and in OH. He and his family live in Middlebury.Adventures in Acrylics: In this 8-week introductory painting class, participants will learn the basics of painting with acrylics. Each 90 minute session will include exercises – color mixing, creating washes, practicing brushstrokes- to create vivid paintings from imagination and observation. Escape The Crate Beginner I Dog Training - Escape the Crate Session Beginner 1 Dog Training Wednesdays
Please join Janis Copes, ABCDT from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques. These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more. Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member. Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed. Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class. No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination. Equipment required: Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats. MAX (4) DOGS ALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND CERTIFICATE OF RABIES MUST BE GIVEN TO THE PARK & RECREATION OFFICE BEFORE THE 1ST CLASS.

Anyone can learn to practice Reiki. Carmelita Rifkin, Reiki Master and Teacher, will explain the ancient Japanese healing art of Reiki and how you can use that energy to help reduce stress and promote relaxation, healing, and enhance optimum health for yourself and others.
The classes include instruction in what Reiki is and its benefits, the history and principles of Usui Reiki; and our chakra system. You will learn how to use Reiki for self treatment and the treatment of others. There will be time to also practice this most wonderful healing technique.
You will receive a certification called first- degree practitioner, which will allow you to continue your journey if you wish onto second- degree practitioner, and then master/teacher.
Carmelita has taken Reiki courses since 2014. She became an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher in 2016 and Karuna and Holy Fire II Reiki Master in 2018. She has taken and has been certified in animal Reiki courses, and teaches Reiki privately and at OLLI-UCONN.

CT Table Tennis Thursdays - Table Tennis Thursdays Table Tennis is a fun game, and health enhancing lifetime activity but also a mentally challenging international, Olympic Sport where age, size, strength and gender are less important than skills and strategies learned.By matching up compatible players by skill levels, from novice to intermediate and Nationally rated expert players, and providing informal instruction, players will gain skills, especially spin creation to become better players in a fun informal program conducted by former National Collegiate Finalist and State Men's Champion, Coach Dave Strang.Players need not commit or pre-register each playing date but should arrive and pay at the office within 2 hours after the listed starting time.Rackets are available to borrow, or arrangements and advise to buy them during the club meeting.Payment of $4.00 is due at the Community Center on the day of play.
